INTEGRATED LEARNING

The heart of the Teaching and Learning programme at Kai Iwi School are our integrated units.

We choose a theme or topic from one area of the curriculum then look for ways to include learning and experiences from other curriculum areas such as Science, Technology, Social Science, Health, English and the Arts.

As part of our integrated units we will look to include high engagement and enrichment activities. Some examples of these have been: The Red Cross Simulation, practical experiments, a beach trip, and public performances.

Where possible we also look to include Inquiry learning into our integrated units.
